Dr Sue Beckers
A Mother of four and GP with her husband in Dorset, Sue has always been fascinated by the effects of food on our health. In 2000 she designed the original Lunchbox Sheet as a survey and teaching tool and in 2001 she enrolled in a Master's degree in Nutritional Medicine at the University Of Surrey. With encouragement from dieticians and health professionals she developed the sheet and with the advice and guidance of some inspiring teaching professionals that sheet has now grown into a whole pack.
In her words, "Children have their own likes and dislikes, but they do know if food makes them feel healthy and they love feeling well and full of energy. All children deserve to know how to choose a well balanced diet for themselves. It has been a pleasure and an honour to work with Margaret Chamberlain and Ian Dicks. They not only beautifully illustrated and designed the artwork, but also helped me to produce the packs in order to keep the costs down and make them affordable for schools. I do hope you and your students enjoy using BOB and the Lunchbox Classroom and if you have any comments I would be delighted to hear from you!"
Enjoy!
